A photo tour to the best place in the world to photograph Dalmatian Pelicans from close, in breeding plumage, with a spectacular background. 2 days from boat, one day from shore, with the assistance of a very skilled local guide.

Winter is the perfect time to photograph Dalmatian Pelicans in breeding plumage, with intense colors and long feathers on the had and neck. Besides Dalmatians, some White Pelicans stays here over winter, also Flamingos and different shore birds, ducks, Lesser White-Fronted Geese and raptors can be seen during the tours.

Here you will shoot pelicans with wide lenses, this means totally different shots the tele lenses. The Pelicans are very friendly and do not afraid if you behave in a professional way. Slow moves, stay at the boat level (do not stand), no noises.

The program include: Guide, 3 days of wildlife photo tours, pick-up/ drop off from/to Thessaloniki Airports, accommodation for 4 nights, transport every day to/from accommodation to the photography places.

Booking

Bookings are based on 500 euro deposit. The rest of the payment can be done anytime until December 01, 2024. The payment options are: online card payment, bank transfer or Revolut.

  • ENGLISH guidance – specialized photographer guide (during the tour – 3 full day trips)
  • 3 days for wildlife photography tours
  • Accommodation, in double room, bathroom en suite, for 4 nights
  • Brunch for tours days, breakfast on the last day
  • Transport from/to Thessaloniki.

Optionally:

  • Single supplement – 100 euro/room/ program

The price does not include:

  • Beverages, other than water
  • Other meals then described as included
  • Insurance of any kind (travel, goods, etc.)
  • Flights fare
  • Personal expenses

Children policy:

  • Minimum age to participate is 12
  • Children over 12 years are charged as adults
  • Responsibility of children’s supervision during trips belong to parents.

Itinerary

Day 1

Pick-up from Thessaloniki, the meeting is at 18:00 to the Airport.

Transfer to the accommodation.

Day 2 and 3

6:00 – Coffee and something sweet (cake or biscuits).

6:30 – Transfer to the boat departure place. The boat is only for our group. The photo session takes about 3 hours (7:00-10:00), on the best light.

Come back to the accommodation for a Greek style brunch then we’ll take you to explore the surroundings in search for other birds or mammals.

15:00 – Transfer to the boat and evening photo session (15:30-18:00), also on the best light.

Day 4

6:00 – Coffee and something sweet (cake or biscuits).

6:30 – Transfer to a special place, where the pelicans use to come close to the shore. Shooting from shore. Natural colors clothes are a must today! The same as previous days about time and brunch.

15:30 – Evening photo session from shore.

Day 5

Early breakfast and transfer to Thessaloniki. End of the tour.

Shared Program

Being a SHARED program, this means the whole group goes with the same car, at the same hours (hours mutually agreed).

Photo tours

Please bring clothes in colors close to rocks (brown, sand, khaki, dark green), avoid ANY other colors.

Photo gear and personal gear

  • Camera, lenses for boat sessions, from 10 to 50 mm for wide shots and 70-200 for close-up or flight shots. Tele lenses for the rest of the birds and shore sessions, memory cards and batteries. Waterproof bags for sensitive gear.
  • Proper clothes to the season/area.
  • Please pack compact! We do not provide carrier services and the space in the car is generous but not infinite.

Group Confirmation

This program is running with minimum 2 persons subscribed. If less then 2 persons subscribe, you’ll be fully refunded.

More then 90 days before the program you can postpone the trip (you will receive a voucher available 2 years). Less then 90 days before the trip, the deposit is non refundable.
