Griffon, Cinereous and Egyptian Vultures photo session from hide, in Bulgaria, Kardzali region, with English speaking local guide or professional photographer.
Bulgaria it’s one of the best places for Griffon and Egyptian Vultures. We are doing photo tours of 5 days/4 nights, with 3 full days of hide photography, with all local services included.
You have two options for this tour:
Option 1 – To have only the photo tour – And you’ll have only the photo tour with the assistance of the local guide.
Include: The hide for 3 days; vultures feeding; your transportation from accommodation to hide and back; assistance of a local guide at the accommodation only (not in the hide); accommodation; half board.
Option 2 – To have this tour as an extension to any of our tours – And you’ll have the transfers and a professional photographer guide with you in the hide (maximize the chances to photograph vultures).
Include: The hide for 3 days; vultures feeding; your transfers from Bucharest or Tulcea to South Bulgaria and back; your transportation from accommodation to hide and back; assistance of a professional photographer guide in the hide; accommodation; half board.

The price includes:
- Local Guide or Professional Photographer Guide (by your choice), ENGLISH language
- 3 full days in hide
- The feeding of the Vultures
- Accommodation in a local guesthouse, in double rooms with en-suite bathroom, for 3 nights.
- Half board (dinner on Day 1; breakfast and dinner on Days 2-4, breakfast on Day 5)
- Water at table
The price does NOT include:
- Lunches, for the hide sessions, you can request the lunch from accommodation (12 euro/pers) or you can bring your own food;
- Transfers to/from South Bulgaria, for Option 1;
- Soda and Alcohol Drinks;
- Snacks and Drinks outside of normal meals;
- International Medical, Travel or Goods Insurance Coverage;
- Services of personal nature (telephone calls, laundry etc.).

Child Policy
- Minimum age of children who can participate in this tour is 12 years.
- Children (over 12) pay entire price.
Program
Day 1:
– IF you choose Option 1, you come by yourself, you have to be in Kardzali region in the afternoon – evening. At booking, we’ll give you exact coordinates of the meeting point.
Be aware! The last 20 km are hard to be done with a normal car. You need a tall car or a 4X4.
Check-in then dinner. At dinner you’ll meet the local guide and you’ll be informed about the program, hour of pick-up in the morning, for hide transfer, RULES! in the hide. He will tell you what you need to do, if you follow the rules, you’ll photograph vultures. Because this meeting with the guide is the key to a successful photo tour, please be there at or before dinner hour.
– IF you choose Option 2, our guide will drive you to the accommodation from the point and hour agreed.
Anyway, you’ll have the diner to the accommodation and then you will receive also the technical details from the guide.
Days 2,3 and 4:
Early in the morning, one hour before sunrise, you’ll depart to the hide with our 4X4 transportation. You’ll be set in the hide by the guide and then you have to wait very quiet for the birds/mammals. If you choose the Option 2, with photographer guide, he will stay with you in the hide, ready to share his knowledges.
You’ll exit from the hide in the evening, when it’s dark. Enter/exit from hide is strictly forbidden during daylight.
The distances range of your targets is 10-100m so you can be ready for this. Please read very carefully our post on the blog, about Rules for VULTURES HIDE Photography.
Breakfasts and lunches (optional) will be to go, dinner to the guesthouse.
Day 5:
Breakfast at a relaxed hour and end of the program. If you have transfer with us, it will be done as agreed.
Accommodation
You’ll be accommodate in a local guesthouse, in double rooms with en-suite bathrooms. We collaborate with very good accommodations and we know exactly where to accommodate to be in compliance with our program.
The local guide
Will assist you from the beginning to the end of the program. Even when you are in hide, you can text him if it’s important. He will arrange the program, will inform you about all the details you have to know about hide, will drive you to the hide and back.
The photographer guide
Will stay with you also in the hide (taking also pictures), will share his reach knowledge about hide photography, birds behavior, even photography technical details and advises.
As photo equipment should have with you:
- Camera
- Long lenses (300-600mm) for birds. You’ll have only a possibility of using a lens. Once set by the guide, in the morning, if you will change the lens and move the blanket outside you’ll not be able to tie it proper from the inside and you can destroy the chances to see any living creature in front of the hide.
- Tripod (it’s a must)
- Spare cards and batteries (especially in winter). You may shoot a lot of pictures.
* Extreme conditions:
- In case of extreme weather conditions (snow, roads closed) occurred before the start of the tour, the deposit will be returned in full.
- If these extreme conditions occur during the tour, the price will be lowered only for the remaining part of the program not made.
- If customers come from another country / region and appear extreme weather conditions, our agency has no obligation to compensate customers in any way for expenses related to flights or other transportation. Also, if extreme weather conditions occurring during the program and the clients can’t go back home, our agency has no obligation to pay accommodation and other additional expenses.

Personal Equipment
- Clothes suitable for this activity, for every season apart
- Color of the clothes is also very important. Please bring your clothes in colors more natural, as close to the colors of nature surrounding. Camouflage pattern on brown are best.
- Also, to the hides, noisy clothes (kind of waterproof jackets) are to avoid, use fleece instead.
* Extreme conditions:
- In case of extreme weather conditions (snow, roads closed) occurred before the start of the tour, the deposit will be returned in full.
- If these extreme conditions occur during the tour, the price will be lowered only for the remaining part of the program not made.

Bookings
Request a booking implies acceptance of the terms and conditions.
Bookings are based on a 30% deposit of the price of the program. The payment options are: online card payment, bank transfer or Revolut.
The rest of the payment have to be done 30 days before the tour start. If the tour is booked less then 30 days before departure, the full price will be paid.
Cancellation Policy:
More then 90 days before the program you can postpone the trip (you will receive a voucher available 2 years). Less then 90 days before the trip, the deposit is non refundable.
